Faculty Kudos - Week of Oct. 12, 2009
A lengthy article on Tom Arviso Jr. being named the winner of the 2009 John Peter and Anna Catherine Zenger Award appeared in the Oct. 8 issue of the Navajo Times. The UA School of Journalism and the Arizona Newspapers Foundation present the award every other year to someone who upholds the traditions of a free press and the people’s right to know. The award was also the focus of an editorial in The Explorer, which covers northwest Tucson, in which Kevin R. Kemper was quoted. Read it here.
Kevin R. Kemper was interviewed for a story on KGUN 9 TV about a possible violation of open records law by the Sunnyside School District. Watch it here.

Linda Lumsden has published an article entitled ““Women’s Lib Has No Soul’? An Analytical Challenge to Myths Surrounding the Black Press’s Coverage of the Women’s Liberation Movement, 1968-1973,” in the Fall 2009 issue of Journalism History.
