Faculty Kudos -- Week of Nov. 27, 2006Celeste González de Bustamante received a travel grant from the Association of Women Faculty for fall 2006. The AWF gives out one travel grant per semester. The award was for the paper she presented Nov. 4 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, entitled, "Hot Rockets and Cold War: Mexican Television News, 1957-1969."Linda Lumsden will discuss the evolution of her work on feminists, her research in the National Woman's Party Archives, and her current project on the radical press in the early 1900s for the University's Brown Bag lunch series Dec. 6 at 12:30 p.m. in the Social Sciences Building, room 128. Staff Kudos -- Week of Nov. 27, 2006Adjunct instructor Glenn Weyant nominated April Thompson for a special kudos. Glenn writes that on a recent Saturday afternoon he suddenly realized he had failed to contact April about a computer and projector he needed for a Monday morning guest lecture. "April came through in the last minute and pulled it all together saving the day. She deserves a kudos (formally or informally) for all she did to make that happen."
