Faculty Kudos Week of March 26, 2007

Iris Chyi had her research cited extensively in the lead article of the Winter 2006 issue of Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly. The article "Media Salience and Frame Changing Across Events: Coverage of Nine School Shootings, 1997-2001: is a content analysis of The New York Times' coverage of nine school shootings. The study "applies the two-dimensional analytical framework suggested by Chyi and McCombs to assess its utility in studying frame-changing across similar events and between more and less salient events."

Kevin R. Kemper was the featured guest on "World Harmony: Can It Happen?" on March 29. The program, which airs on Tucson's public access station, focused on The Fairness Doctrine. The program will be rebroadcast April 7 and 14 at noon on Cox Cable Cannel 99, Comcast Channel 74 or online. Go to http://www.accesstucson.org/ and click on: Access Tucson, look for "NOW PLAYING," click "Watch Online", and finally click "Watch Channels 72/97."
