Faculty Kudos - Week of Sept. 10, 2007

Kate Harrison had her essay on attending her 20th college reunion published in the Autumn 2007 issue of the University of Dayton Quarterly.

Kevin Kemper will give a talk at the School of Information Resources and Library Science's Research Brown Bag Series at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the SIRLS multipurpose room, 1515 E. First St. His topic is "Garcetti v. Ceballos & Morse v. Frederick: How Refined Government Speech Doctrine Could Impact Academic Freedom at Public Colleges and Universities."

An online publication produced by students in the University of Arizona's Department of Journalism has been named a finalist for the 2007 Online Journalism Awards presented by the Online News Association and the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Southern California. Border Beat was named a finalist in the Student Journalism category. The site, launched in spring 2007 by online journalism students and their instructor, Jay Rochlin, offers news, insights and resources for those interested in the U.S.-Mexico border region. The online journalism awards will be presented at the 2007 Online News Association Conference and Online Journalism Awards Banquet, in Toronto, October 18-19.
