The University of Arizona chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists has won national recognition as the top chapter in a four-state region. In 2008, the UA chapter hosted the professional Society of Professional Journalists regional 11 conference.

The chapter sends its members to various journalism conferences around the country in an effort to supplement their education. Any student can attend any SPJ function to learn more about journalism or meet new friends.
