About the Internship
From a nationwide pool of candidates, we select four full-time interns seeking front-line experience in news, business, features, and sports reporting, still and video photography and online content editing. Our program pays $450 a week for 11 weeks, and we provide housing at St. Edward’s University near the newspaper.
Qualifications & Requirements
Here are the qualifications and requirements we look for in our candidates:
- Undergraduate, graduate college students or recent graduates may apply
- You don’t have to be a journalism or communications major
- College newsroom experience or a previous internship is a plus
- Good academic record
- Strong desire to be a journalist
- Work samples that show talent and promise
- Have a valid driver’s license, transportation and proof of insurance
