Mark Evans is an editor with TucsonCitizen.com, a Web-based site of commentary and blogs that was launched when the Tucson Citizen ceased print publication in May 2009. He had been an assistant city editor at the Citizen.

Evans joined the Citizen in 2007. Prior to that, he was the editor for The Explorer, where he oversaw the news operations for a 46,000 free weekly community newspaper. He also worked at the paper as a reporer and sports editor before being named editor. Evans spent a year as a reporter for the Coolidge Examiner.

He has won numerous reporting and photography awards in his career. Evans also was the 1997 first runner up for the Community Journalist of the Year award given by the Arizona Press Club. He's a 1994 graduate of the UA journalism department.

Evans teaches Reporting Public Affairs.
