JOURNALISM STUDENTS : ADVISING

The University of Arizona recognizes academic advising to be a critical component of the educational experience of its undergraduate students. Through individual, collaborative relationships with academic advisors, students are best able to define and implement sound educational plans that are consistent with their personal values, goals and career plans.

Two academic advisors are available to assist journalism students. Visit during walk-in hours or call or e-mail in advance to line up an academic advising appointment.

How to read your SAPR
The Student Academic Progress Report (SAPR) reflects your your progress toward fulfilling the requirements of your major(s), and is a common staple of your academic advising visits. It is also an amazingly complex and difficult document to read. This site contains a section-by-section breakdown of your SAPR and the information it contains.

Advising Resource Center
The University of Arizona Advising Resource Center provides advising, career counseling, and other student services such as interpretation of institutional requirements. The goal? To help students clarify their life and career goals.

The center also maintains the university's advising roles and responsibilities charter, a comprehensive student questions FAQ, a list of campus advising resources, and the UA's academic policies.
