Workshops set on internships, résumé preparation

The School of Journalism Internship Office is coordinating several events in anticipation of the Oct. 16 Internship Fair, including workshops on résumé and cover letter preparation, photo critiques, and preparing for a career in video news.

Sept. 30, 5 p.m., Room 344 -- Online résumés. Limited seating. Bring your electronic clips (pdf files) and résumé to this session and learn to create an online résumé in Wordpress, iWeb and Google Site. Led by Lisa Button and Mike McKisson.

Oct. 5, 10 a.m. to noon, Room 327 -- Bring your photo and multimedia portfolio for expert critique by Kim Newton.

Oct. 6, Marshall 311 -- Preparing for a career in video news? Don't miss this opportunity to go over your résumé and reels with Christopher Conover, Celeste Gonzalez de Bustamante, Jim Mitchell and Sal Quijada.

Noon to 1 p.m. -- Résumé critiques
1 p.m. to 2 p.m. -- Reel critiques
2 p.m. to 3 p.m. -- Résumé critiques

Oct. 6, Marshall 340 and 342, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. -- Special presentation on cover letters at 2 p.m. by Professor Susan Knight. Bring your résumé, clips and cover letters for one-on-one critique with Dave Cuillier, Bruce Itule, Susan Knight, Lew Serviss and Glenn Weyant.
