The public is invited to a free symposium and reception at UA Libraries on Friday titled “Preserving the Voices of Arizona’s Diverse Communities.” Grad student Ava Garcia will talk at 11:45 a.m. on “Women in Arizona Journalism.” Prof. Linda Lumsden will be part of the title panel at 10:15 a.m. The 6 p.m. reception will include short talks by grad students Claude Akins, Matt Brockman, Georges Chavez, Ty Hudson and Lorraine Turpault-d’Huve, as well as alum Frank O. Sotomayor and others.
