Come watch the 2014 film "Selma" on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. at The Loft Cinema, and stay afterward for a Q-and-A with Pulitzer Prize-winning and author Diane McWhorter about covering the civil rights struggle — then and now.
Tickets are $7.50 for students and faculty, $9.25 for public.
"Carry Me Home," McWhorter's account of the civil rights movement in her hometown of Birmingham, Alabama, won the Pulitzer Prize for general non-fiction in 2002.
"Selma" is the fourth film in the "Journalism on Screen" series at The Loft, 3233 E. Speedway. Sponsors include the UA School of Journalism, the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Arizona inn and The New York Times.
