Linda Lumsden was a panelist on "Go Global: International Opportunities to Practice or Teach Journalism,” on Sept. 6. at the SPJ “Excellence in Journalism 2014” convention in Nashville. She spoke about her experience as a 2012-13 Fulbright Scholar in Malaysia and offered advice on how to apply to the program. Also at the conference, Dave Cuillier will step down as SPJ president and assume the title of immediate past president.
The Biosphere 2 trip led by Carol Schwalbe is the first recipient of a Student-Faculty Interaction grant chosen to be featured in PawPrints, an e-newsletter for UA parents and other family members.
Terry Wimmer was in Orange, Calif., Sept. 5-7 for the Chapman University Excellence in Journalism program sponsored by the Orange County Press Club. He is leading one session called Math for Dummies, and then a symposium with the three lead reporters for the Orange County Register's investigation into a fertility scandal that won the paper the Pulitzer for investigative reporting in 1996.
