Internships: Jan. 5, 2017

Renée Schafer Horton, Internship Coordinator

Jan. 5, 2017

Dear Students:

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a restful break and are now thinking, ‘Hey, maybe I should check my school email, before the semester actually starts’ because do I have some deals for you! But first…..

• Remember, if you’re in a spring internship, I need your paperwork (or to see your smiling face in my office) by Thursday Jan. 12 so I can get you enrolled without you paying late fees. Make appointments via this link (the Wise Advising online calendar).

• Are you considering fancy-pants-ing your résumé? If so, check this out in re: graphic-representation résumés. These aren’t great for most job applications, but should be considered for those of you wanting to do newspaper/magazine design, entertainment news, or social media.

• Otherwise, read on and see what we’ve got cooking for internship opportunities – new ones and ones that were listed last month that have deadlines in January. Read carefully! Remember: Check out the miscellaneous board by the class mailboxes/elevators for internships outside of journalism. And recall that the The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences has a new internship search tool here.

Best to all and see you next week –
