If you have a vehicle and want to earn some extra money this fall, The Sahuarita Sun is looking for stringer to cover high school football this fall. Read below for all the details of how to apply.
The Sahuarita Sun newspaper south of Tucson is looking for a college student freelancer for the fall high school football season, with possible opportunities to stick with us through the school year.
We need somebody who can write previews, game stories (500-600 words), shoot video, Facebook Live video, update games on Twitter, and take still photos. The Sun is a weekly publication (Wednesdays) delivered to 95 percent of the homes in Sahuarita (population 27,000), and has a strong online presence.
This is a paid position (generally $50 per story), and the candidates must have access to a car. You will cover home and away games for Sahuarita and Walden Grove high schools (we won't send you outside the Tucson metro area).
Some experience preferred, along with references. Interested candidates should email their clippings and résumé to Sports Editor Christopher Boan, at firstname.lastname@example.org, and to Editor Dan Shearer, email@example.com.
