Alexandra Pere

Freelance journalist and podcaster Alexandra Pere is the Outreach Coordinator for the School of Journalism. She manages all school social media accounts, alumni newsletters, ad campaigns, and website updates. She also teaches podcasting workshops and writes about school events. When she’s not elevating the public image of the school, she’s producing the disability advocacy podcast Disability Empowerment Now.

Her reporting interests include mental health, education, and disability rights.

Pere graduated from the UArizona School of Journalism with her bachelor’s in journalism in 2020 and pursued a master’s in science journalism through the SOJ’s accelerated master’s program. She graduated with her master’s in 2021. Before joining the School of Journalism’s staff, she was a reporter and assistant editor at the Tucson Weekly.
