The Daily Wildcat is on the recruiting trail, looking for its next
TWO Sports Editors for the Fall 2021 semester

With UA football back on track for a full season again, the UA women’s basketball program fresh off its historic Final Four run, a new UA men’s basketball head coach taking the reins, and soccer, volleyball, cross country, golf and tennis back in action on campus this Fall, you have the chance to put your stamp on one of the nation’s most robust college newspaper sports sections! 

Being sports editor of the Wildcat gives you:  

  • A paid bi-weekly stipend while you lead one of the publication’s most impactful (and most read!!) sections. 
  • The chance to continue developing your own voice as a sports writer/reporter, while being a resource to your staff of reporters covering everything under the sun related to UA sports. 
  • A seat on the Daily Wildcat’s 18-member executive board, helping collectively shape the vision and decisions that guide the 122-year-old University of Arizona campus institution 
  • The most clear-cut useful resume item for any individual looking to practice sports journalism professionally! Hiring managers at outlets nation-wide look for college news outlet sports editors at the forefront of their hiring process!  

These are important jobs, so time management skill, plus experience covering high school, college or professional sports are valued. But you do not need to have already worked for the Wildcat to be considered.
