About the Major
In a rapidly changing world with a 24/7 news cycle, journalism is more important than ever. You will learn skills in our program that will benefit you in any career, for the rest of your life. You will learn to produce news reports for print, broadcast, and online media and have opportunities for internships in any of those fields. We even have a class on developing mobile apps. It doesn’t matter the medium – you will learn the techniques and the knowhow – all to make the world a better place.
Required Minor
You are required to pursue a minor (or double major) with this program. We encourage you to seek out departments with courses that compliment your area of study. Some of the areas of interest you may look into including political science, Middle Eastern studies, sports management, business administration, economics, communication, and much more.
Career Pathways
Obtaining a B.A. in Journalism will provide you different routes and outlooks for your career. Some of these positions may include:
