The findings are based on analysis of more than 300 organizations in the United States that have something to do with the access and dissemination of information critical to the people’s ability to self-govern. Also, 53 executive directors provided insights into avoiding needless duplication, filling gaps, and identifying new opportunities to increase impact.

"The coronavirus demonstrates just how critical the free flow of information is for the public," Cuillier said. "Freedom of information is more important than ever, and all of us – working together – can help improve the people’s right to know."

Cuillier also did a March 16 webinar for rtdna.org on accessing records.
