About the Program
The intensive 10-day program for college and graduate students offers hands-on training for students interested in being a part of the largest politics- and policy-focused newsroom in America. The seventh session, which will be held May 26 to June 5, 2020, offers a unique opportunity for students to sharpen their skills and report for POLITICO during the 2020 election cycle.
Programming for PJI includes interactive sessions, panels with industry leaders, mentor pairings and visits to the White House, Congress, area newsrooms and more. Participants will split time between POLITICO's newsroom in Arlington, Va., and the nearby campus of American University, where they also are provided housing. Costs for PJI participants, including room, board, and transportation, are covered by POLITICO.
After completing PJI, many students go on to internships or employment at POLITICO and at other news organizations.
