Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by learning more about Chicano activism in the 1960s Southwest. Join the school of journalism and the Mexican American Studies program as Frank Sotomayor, Amanda Castillo, Macario Saldate, and Salomon Baldenegro discuss Sotomayor's new book The Dawning of Diversity: How Chicanos Helped Change Stanford University. The panel will also examine the impact of Chicano activism at the University of Arizona at this time and how it led to the formation of Mexican American Studies and a push toward bilingual education.
