Patterson lands legislative internship with Gov. Ducey

Tessa Patterson

Tessa Patterson, a senior in journalism, is one of four students from Arizona selected to intern with Gov. Doug Ducey during the spring legislative session.

She was selected for the Legislative Internship Program offered through the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

As an intern, she will attend meetings with the governor's senior staff and policy advisers, as well as legislators, and she will cover legislative hearings, meetings and floor sessions, preparing notes for review by the governor's staff.

Patterson, who grew up in Tempe, became interested in journalism as a television broadcaster in her high school and said she loves exploring different topics and telling the stories of all kinds of people.

After she graduates in May, she plans to move to New York City, where she hopes to work in digital media.
