School issues fraud alert

Neighbors in Oro Valley, Sahuarita and midtown Tucson have encountered two young people posing as students and soliciting money for an alleged UA journalism internship with the BBC in London.

The people are not affiliated with the School of Journalism, nor is the school conducting a fundraising effort to send students abroad.

Police encourage neighbors to call 911 immediately if they see any suspicious activity.

Residents reported encountering the couple in Sahuarita's Quail Creek area and in the Broadway-Broadmoor area near Tucson's Reid Park.
