Specialty: Digital/Video Journalism
Areas of interest: Documentary filmmaking, ethnographic feature writing
Undergraduate Degree: B.A. in Japanese Language and Culture specializing in Contemporary Religious Studies, Minor in Religious Studies from the University of Arizona
Hometown: Tucson
Background/goals: I originally intended to continue in Japanese Religion academia, but after witnessing certain events transpire around the world, I decided to switch to Journalism so I can lend my voice to those who have lost theirs. I want to make documentary films that push for the advancement of human rights and inspire viewers into advocating for a better world.
Why UA: I absolutely loved my undergraduate experience at the U of A, and when I was first exploring my options for a master’s program, I couldn’t have felt more welcomed by the School of Journalism.
