Undergraduate degree: B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature, San Francisco State University

Areas of interest: Environmental portraiture, audio production, documentary filmmaking, and feature writing

Hometown: Tucson is my hometown, but my heartbeat is audible as far south as Cuernavaca.

Background/Goals: Before beginning this program, I spent over 20 years as a full-stack web developer and designer. That work challenged me to continually learn while providing me with the tools to utilize technology to share information in useful and appealingly designed formats. My goal is to continue learning and preparing myself to discover and approach stories that I want people to know. I want to share them in engagingly written and visually compelling ways.

Why UA?: I chose the University of Arizona for its experienced, student-focused faculty. Their mentorship inspires and energizes me as I pursue journalism that bridges languages, cultures, and communities.
